What counts as a render?
One successful POST /v1/render response, PDF or PNG, of any page count. Failed renders (bad data, unknown template), test renders and /v1/validate calls are free.
What are test renders?
Add test=true to a render (--test in the CLI, { test: true } in the SDKs) and you get the same PDF with a “TEST RENDER” watermark. Test renders are unlimited on every plan, don't count against your quota and keep working when the quota runs out, so you can build and debug your integration for free. Playground renders are watermarked the same way.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
Render calls return HTTP 429 with the type quota_exceeded until the next calendar month (UTC) or until you upgrade. Test renders keep working. Nothing is billed automatically.
How do I upgrade or cancel?
Run npx quirepdf-cli upgrade pro (or starter, scale) to open checkout. The plan changes as soon as payment completes. Change plans, cancel or download invoices with npx quirepdf-cli billing. Paid plans open shortly; until then the free plan is available.
Do you store my documents?
No. Documents are rendered in memory and returned in the response. Quire keeps only a monthly render count per account.
